Polianthes enjoys soil that has compost worked into it at a depth of 20cm and is well-draining. They need to be planted at a depth of 5cm and with 10cm spacing between the bulbs. They need to be watered regularly during their growing season and can remain in the South African soil during their dormancy as they can handle water and light frost well.
