Syngonium ‘Robusta’ is a cultivar of the Syngonium genus, known for its robust and large leaves.

Appearance: Arrowhead-shaped leaves that are larger compared to other Syngonium varieties. The leaves are usually deep green and have a glossy texture. As the plant matures, the leaves may develop natural splits or lobes, adding to its aesthetic appeal.

Growth Habit: Syngonium ‘Robusta’ has an upright growth habit, initially forming a bushy clump of foliage. As it grows, it may produce trailing stems that can be trained to climb or allowed to cascade. With proper care, it can reach a height of around 1 to 3 feet (30 to 90 cm).

Lighting Requirements: Thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light conditions, but to maintain its robust growth and leaf coloration, providing it with bright, filtered light is ideal. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

Temperature and Humidity: This plant prefers average to warm temperatures between 18-27°C. It can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures but should be protected from drafts and temperature extremes. Syngonium ‘Robusta’ adapts well to normal room humidity levels.

Watering: Keep the soil slightly moist but not waterlogged. Water the plant when the top inch (2.5 cm) of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot. Ensure proper drainage in the pot to prevent standing water.

Soil and Fertiliser: Use a well-draining potting mix suitable for houseplants. A mixture of peat moss, perlite, and potting soil is commonly used. Fertilise the plant during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser diluted according to the package instructions.

Pruning and Maintenance: Prune to control its size and shape. Remove any yellowed, damaged, or leggy stems to maintain the plant’s appearance and overall health. Wiping the leaves with a damp cloth occasionally will help keep them clean and prevent dust accumulation.
