Nephrolepis Fishtail Fern 21cm Hanging Basket
Original price was: R255.00.R159.99Current price is: R159.99.Add to cartNephrolepis Fishtail Fern 21cm Hanging Basket
The Nephrolepis Fishtail Fern, scientifically known as Nephrolepis falcata, is a species of fern that belongs to the Nephrolepidaceae family. It is commonly referred to as the Fishtail Fern due to its unique fronds that resemble the tail of a fish.
Appearance: The Fishtail Fern features fronds that grow in a distinctive triangular shape with serrated edges, resembling the fins of a fish. The fronds are typically a vibrant green color and can grow quite long, reaching up to 1 meter in length.
Growth habit: This fern is known for its vigorous growth and can form dense clumps over time. It produces runners or rhizomes that spread horizontally, allowing the plant to expand and fill its growing space.
Light and temperature: The Nephrolepis Fishtail Fern thrives in bright, indirect light. It prefers temperatures that range between 15°C to 24°C. It’s important to protect it from direct sunlight, as excessive exposure can scorch its delicate fronds.
Watering and humidity: This fern enjoys consistently moist soil, but it’s essential to avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out slightly before watering again. Mist the fronds occasionally to provide the humidity that these ferns prefer.
Soil and fertilisation: Plant the Fishtail Fern in well-draining potting soil that retains some moisture. You can use a general-purpose houseplant fertiliser at half-strength every two to four weeks during the growing season (spring to autumn) to provide nutrients.
Care tips: To maintain a healthy Fishtail Fern, remove any yellow or brown fronds regularly. You can also divide the plant every few years to control its size and rejuvenate its growth.
The Nephrolepis Fishtail Fern is an attractive and relatively easy-care fern that can be grown indoors as a houseplant or in shaded areas of the garden. With proper care and favorable conditions, it can add a touch of lush greenery to your living space.

Appearance: Senecio macroglossus green has elongated, fleshy leaves that are typically bright green in colour. The leaves are smooth and glossy, giving the plant a lush and attractive appearance. The foliage is similar in shape to ivy leaves, hence the common names.
Growth Habit: Senecio macroglossus green has a trailing or cascading growth habit. It sends out long, trailing stems that can reach several feet in length. The plant can be grown in hanging baskets or trained to climb up a trellis or support.
Lighting Requirements: Senecio macroglossus green thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light conditions but prefers a well-lit spot. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight for extended periods, as it can scorch the leaves. Placing the plant near a north-facing or east-facing window can provide suitable lighting.
Temperature and Humidity: This plant prefers average to warm temperatures between 18-24°C. It can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures but should be protected from drafts and temperature extremes. Senecio macroglossus green adapts well to normal room humidity levels.
Watering: Keep the soil slightly moist but not waterlogged. Water the plant thoroughly when the top inch (2.5 cm) of soil feels dry. It is more drought-tolerant than many other succulents, but avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
Soil and Fertiliser: Use a well-draining potting mix suitable for succulents. A mixture of cactus potting soil, perlite, and coarse sand is commonly used. Fertilise the plant sparingly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser diluted according to the package instructions.
Pruning and Maintenance: Prune to control its size and shape. Trim back any leggy or overgrown stems to promote bushier growth. Regularly remove any yellowed or damaged leaves to maintain the plant’s appearance and overall health.
Senecio macroglossus green is a visually appealing trailing plant with its glossy green foliage and cascading growth habit. With the right care and conditions, it can add a touch of green beauty to your indoor or outdoor space.

Common Name: Rose Grape, Philippine OrchidMedinilla magnifica, commonly known as the Rose Grape or Philippine Orchid, is a striking tropical plant known for its large, showy clusters of pink flowers.
Light Requirements
Bright, Indirect Light: Medinilla magnifica prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves, especially in a wired coir basket where the roots may be more exposed.
Watering
Consistent Moisture: Keep the soil evenly moist, but not waterlogged. The coir basket allows for good drainage, but ensure that the plant doesn’t dry out too quickly.

Warm Temperatures: Medinilla magnifica thrives in warm temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 15°C.
Pruning and Maintenance
Deadheading: Remove spent flowers to encourage new blooms and prevent the plant from putting energy into seed production.
Cleaning: Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth occasionally to remove dust and keep the plant looking its best.Support
Support Stems: The wired coir basket provides a good structure, but as the plant grows, you may need to provide additional support to the stems to prevent them from drooping under the weight of the flowers.
Repotting
Repotting Needs: Medinilla magnifica prefers being slightly root-bound. Repot only when necessary, typically every 2-3 years, into a slightly larger basket or pot.
