Coleus Wasabi 15cm Pot
Original price was: R175.00.R125.00Current price is: R125.00.Coleus Wasabi 15cm Pot
Coleus, known for its vibrant and colourful foliage, is a popular choice for gardens and indoor plant collections. To grow healthy and attractive coleus plants, you should provide them with the right growing conditions:
Light
Indoor Coleus: When growing coleus indoors, place them in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
Outdoor Coleus: If growing coleus outdoors, they can tolerate some morning sun, but they generally prefer partial to full shade, especially in hot climates. Too much direct sun can fade the vibrant colours of the leaves.Temperature
Coleus prefers moderate temperatures. They do well in the range of 21-37°C. Protect them from frost and cold drafts.Soil
Use a well-draining potting mix or garden soil with good drainage. A slightly acidic to neutral pH (around 6.0-7.0) is suitable for coleus.Watering
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top inch of the soil feels dry, but don’t let the plant wilt. Coleus prefers relatively high humidity levels.Fertilisation
Fertilise your coleus plants every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring through early fall) with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser. Avoid over-fertilisation, as it can lead to leggy growth with less vibrant foliage.Pruning
Regularly pinch or trim back the tips of coleus stems to encourage bushier growth and prevent legginess. You can also remove any flower spikes that form, as coleus is typically grown for its foliage, not its flowers.Container Growing
Coleus can thrive in containers. Make sure the pots have drainage holes to prevent overwatering and root rot. -

Medium Watering (allow top of soil to dry between waters)
Feed 2 x Per MonthSyngonium ‘Robusta’ is a cultivar of the Syngonium genus, known for its robust and large leaves.
Appearance: Arrowhead-shaped leaves that are larger compared to other Syngonium varieties. The leaves are usually deep green and have a glossy texture. As the plant matures, the leaves may develop natural splits or lobes, adding to its aesthetic appeal.
Growth Habit: Syngonium ‘Robusta’ has an upright growth habit, initially forming a bushy clump of foliage. As it grows, it may produce trailing stems that can be trained to climb or allowed to cascade. With proper care, it can reach a height of around 1 to 3 feet (30 to 90 cm).
Lighting Requirements: Thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light conditions, but to maintain its robust growth and leaf coloration, providing it with bright, filtered light is ideal. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
Temperature and Humidity: This plant prefers average to warm temperatures between 18-27°C. It can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures but should be protected from drafts and temperature extremes. Syngonium ‘Robusta’ adapts well to normal room humidity levels.
Watering: Keep the soil slightly moist but not waterlogged. Water the plant when the top inch (2.5 cm) of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot. Ensure proper drainage in the pot to prevent standing water.
Soil and Fertiliser: Use a well-draining potting mix suitable for houseplants. A mixture of peat moss, perlite, and potting soil is commonly used. Fertilise the plant during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser diluted according to the package instructions.
Pruning and Maintenance: Prune to control its size and shape. Remove any yellowed, damaged, or leggy stems to maintain the plant’s appearance and overall health. Wiping the leaves with a damp cloth occasionally will help keep them clean and prevent dust accumulation.

EvergreenFast-growing tree fern up to 4m in height with a rough, hairy stem and leaves in rosette.
Moist and shady conditions are a favourite for this fern.Cyathea australis, commonly known as the Rough Tree Fern or the Australian Tree Fern, is a large and attractive species of tree fern native to eastern Australia, particularly in the coastal regions of New South Wales and Queensland. It is a member of the Cyatheaceae family.
Characterized by its tall, slender trunk and large fronds, Cyathea australis can grow up to 15 meters in height. The fronds are bright green and can reach lengths of 4-6 meters, forming a beautiful canopy of lush foliage.
These ferns prefer shady and moist environments, typically found in rainforests, gullies, and other sheltered areas. They are well-suited to gardens with a similar environment, making them popular choices for landscaping projects in suitable climates.
When planting Cyathea australis, it is essential to ensure the soil is rich and well-draining, and the location provides enough shade and protection from strong winds. Regular watering is crucial to maintaining their lush appearance. In colder regions, they may require additional protection during winter.
